一人一信給美國總統，向美國參議院與眾議院說出你的聲音

歡迎到FAPA的網頁，寫信給美國總統 Barack Obama 與國務卿 Hillary Clinton，也請各位告訴更多的朋友，這是一個由在美國替台灣發聲的 Formosan Association for Public Affairs （FAPA）所發起的運動，如果你需要加入的更多的資料，信件內文章是可以進行修改，這是參加向美國總統請願，所以必須用真實姓名，如果你具有美國公民身份，或是請告訴你所認識住在美國的朋友與親戚，請參加寫信的眾議員與參議員的活動，因為有你的一封信，在今年四月就滿三十歲的台灣關係法， Taiwan Relations Act 的最後修正，一定能獲得眾議員與參議員的重視。

Established in 1982 in Los Angeles, the Formosan Association for Public Affairs ( FAPA www.fapa.org) is a world-wide, Washington headquartered, non-profit organization.

We believe that the United States should not only reach out and extend a hand of friendship to its foes but foremost to its friends and allies. Taiwan, one of the young democracies and staunchest U.S. allies, has been systematically shunned by Washington for the sake of a harmonious U.S.-China relationship. Taiwan's democratic aspirations, such as holding referendums, and repeated membership appeals to the United Nations, did not receive much support in Washington or elsewhere.

The roadblock Taiwan is facing all comes down to an outdated "One China" Policy. The "One China" Policy originates from when the U.S. needed China to counter the threat of the former Soviet Union. The Soviet Union no longer exists today. Moreover, clinging to this outdated foreign policy is dangerous to American strategic interests in the region.

The US House Subcommittee on Asia and the Pacific has amended and watered down a resolution offering strong support for Taiwan on the 30th anniversary of the Taiwan Relations Act (TRA).

It has angered some members of the subcommittee and Congressional sources said that it came as a result of direct pressure from Beijing.

〔駐美特派員曹郁芬／華府十九日報導〕美國眾議員外委會亞太小組今天無異議通過一項決議案，重申對台灣關係法和民主的支持。不過在亞太小組主席法里歐馬維加的運作下，決議案文字從台灣關係法為美台關係的「基石」，變成了台灣關係法對美台關係「很重要」。長期觀察美國國會生態的台灣人公共事務會（ＦＡＰＡ）對此感到憂慮。
